As a high-precision measuring device, torque sensors are widely used in many industries. Whether it is the torque speed or mechanical power of electric motors or engines, they can be measured through torque sensors. In order to ensure the accuracy of measurement results, there are many requirements for the installation of torque sensors. Today, we will talk about the precautions when installing torque sensors.
Firstly, when installing the torque sensor, it is necessary to pay attention to installing the couplings separately on their respective shafts. Then, the torque sensor should be installed between the power source and load of the two sets of couplings in order to measure accurate data. Sometimes, the reason for inaccurate data may also be due to the power load and equipment not being fixed properly, as vibration can cause instrument failure or inaccurate measurement.
Secondly, whether to use rigid or elastic connections is also a question that needs to be carefully considered when installing torque sensors. Generally, it is better to use elastic connections when the concentricity is less than 0.2 millimeters and greater than 0.05 millimeters. If the concentricity is not within this range, both rigid and elastic connections can be used. Rigid connections are commonly used.
Thirdly, in the current installation of torque sensors, couplings are subjected to axial force and bending moment, and there is currently no good solution to this situation. Therefore, during installation, the instrument's bearing capacity should be minimized to avoid damage or inaccurate measurement data.
Fourthly, in actual installation, there are two distances that need special attention. One is the distance between the prime mover and the load, which is determined by the connection method of the shaft and the length of the torque sensor. The other distance is the distance between the torque sensor and the reference plane, which also needs to be debugged during actual installation.
For high-precision measuring instruments such as torque sensors, attention must be paid to the above issues during installation, otherwise it is likely to result in inaccurate measurement data, and if there are errors during installation, it may also cause damage to torque sensors and other equipment. Therefore, careful installation is necessary.
